Why this matters

Your helper shapes your child's day more than you might think

In Hong Kong, your helper is often the person who spends the most time with your child each day - there during play, mealtimes, routines, and transitions. Most helpers have never been shown how to support a child's independence. Not because they don't care, but because nobody taught them.

So they do what feels natural: they help, they entertain, they step in. It comes from love. But over time, it quietly gets in the way of your child learning to do things for themselves.

When your helper is on the same page as you - responding the same way, setting up the environment the same way - everything changes. Routines get smoother. The child becomes more independent. The home gets calmer.

This session is a first step towards that - and a live taste of the Evolve Sprouts programme.

What happens on the day

60 minutes. Your child in the room. Real coaching

  • Guided observation in the shared playroom

Your child is already playing. You gather with Ida and observe together - she narrates what she sees. No lecture yet. The room does the teaching.

  • Three core ideas, plainly explained

In the private room: what a prepared environment is, what the adult's real role is during play, and why fewer toys - rotated thoughtfully - works better. No jargon. Just clarity.

  • Live coaching with Happy Baton toy invitations

Children come into the private room where Happy Baton toys are set up as Montessori invitations. You observe your own child, and Ida coaches you in real time - specific, personal, and immediately useful.

  • Debrief, take-home cards & what comes next

A group circle: one insight per family. Your personalised Auntie Challenge card - written by Ida during the session, specific to your child. Then browse the Happy Baton pre-loved toy sale.

Thank you so much for taking Jenelyn's caregiving skills to the next level! I've already noticed a real improvement in how she engages with our child, and the changes have been wonderful to witness. It's not always an easy journey, but the results speak for themselves - we are truly grateful, and our home feels calmer.

Our caregiver came back from the course excited, motivated, and full of fresh ideas. I'm already noticing a wonderful shift in her approach - from the language she uses to how she handles toddler moments with calm and patience. The reminder that children mirror the behaviour they see has resonated with our whole family.

My auntie recently completed the pilot programme for 0-12 months, and we couldn't be more grateful for such a wonderful course. She came back with a wealth of ideas that we've already started putting into practice at home. As first-time parents, the detailed course notes were a brilliant bonus - it felt like we were learning right alongside her.

A happy parent testimonial image

After attending the course, our caregiver returned with a real understanding of how to raise an independent, calm toddler - and the difference has been remarkable. I've also had the pleasure of collaborating with Ida professionally on a workshop, and both experiences have been outstanding. The community she creates for caregivers to connect and grow is truly one of a kind.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Is this suitable for my 1-year-old? What about my 4-year-old?

Yes to both. The play invitations will be matched to your child's developmental stage, and coaching will focus on what's relevant for their age.

  • My helper will attend alone with my child - is that okay?

Absolutely. Just indicate that when you register, and we'll make sure both are supported during the session.

  • Do we need to bring anything?

Just yourselves. All toys and materials are provided. You'll leave with your take-home card packs.

  • What if I'm running late?

The session starts promptly at 10:00, but if you're delayed, join us when you can - we'll settle you in quietly.

  • Can I stay and shop afterward?

Yes! The Happy Baton pop-up runs 30 March - 7 April, so you're welcome to browse before or after your session.
